Crimson (紅 - Kurenai) is one of Homura's reoccurring Ninja Arts that appear throughout the Senran Kagura Series.
Crimson is very different between both the Timeline 1 and Timeline 2 games:
- Timeline 1 Series (3DS): Crimson is a Ninja Art performed by Crimson Homura, who is a separate playable character.
- Timeline 2 Series (PlayStation): Crimson is a Ninja Art that allows Homura to turn into Crimson Homura, instead of an attack like in the 3DS main series.
(Crimson Homura's Super Secret Ninja Art: Requires 2 Ninja Art Scrolls to use.)
This is a ninja art performed by Crimson Homura. Homura draws her seventh sword, Engetsuka, and levitates her other six katana around her. She thrusts her seventh sword up into the air and generates a whirlwind of fire as the six swords begin to spin around her, finishing the move by stabbing into the ground, causing a pillar of fire to erupt from beneath her.
(Crimson Homura's Level 3 Ninja Art: Requires 3 Ninja Art Scrolls to use.)
This is a ninja art performed by Crimson Homura. Homura takes her seventh sword, Engetsuka, and uses it to levitate her other six katana around her. She then thrusts it up into the air, causing the other six to spin violently around her: thus generating a gigantic tornado of fire that shoots into the sky.
(Homura's Level 2 Ninja Art: Requires 2 Ninja Art Scrolls to use.)
While Crimson Homura is not a separate character, its form has become a ninja art at Homura's disposal. When in this form, Homura becomes overwhelmingly powerful. She is allowed to wield all seven of her swords (this includes her nodachi) and can command them at will; tearing through crowds of enemies in a single strike.
While in this form, she is invincible and can take no damage nor can be staggered from any attack. However, her mobility is quite limited as she is unable to run freely. To compensate, she is allowed short dashes that can get her to a single point in a very short amount of time. Utilizing this properly in a fight, Crimson Homura is a force to be reckoned with.
- Notably, while Crimson is simply the transformation in SHINOVI Versus, while transformed, she gains access to an attack that bears a strong resemblance to the Lotus ninja art in BURST.
